HISTORY OF THE RPG
The RPG, or Rocket-Propelled Grenade, is a family of portable, shoulder-fired anti-tank weapons originally designed in the Soviet Union during the mid-20th century. These weapons fire rockets or grenades at armored vehicles and fortifications. When fired, the rocket is propelled by a backblast from the rocket motor and follows a trajectory to the target.
One of the most iconic RPGs is the RPG-7, introduced in the 1960s and widely used by military forces and insurgent groups worldwide. It is known for its simplicity, reliability, and effectiveness against armored vehicles. The RPG has played a significant role in modern infantry warfare, providing a low-cost and portable means of countering armored threats. It remains in use today and has seen extensive combat throughout its history.
